My Little Character

Dear Pia,

You are understanding the world around you more and more with each passing minute. And with that understanding, your character develops full of love and scolding and independence. I love all the faces of you. Here are just a few over the past couple days:

Mamas eczema is BAD and getting worse by the day. I've taken to nightly baths of baking soda and oatmeal just to get through the itchy nights. You found some baking soda in your bathroom and came out looking very upset. You scolded me in very sharp sentences:

"Mama! What these doing in the bathroom!? What you doing? They for making cookies!!"

Then you told me that at least 5 more times and put them back in the kitchen.

At dinner you are discovering all new ways to eat your food. Usually your meals demand a fork and especially a knife regardless of their substance, but on this particular night, fingers and giggles would do...

"I'm gonna get you, mama!!!"

And then there is the studious face of Pia. Like when you refused to take off your shark bib. You'd discovered it made an excellent pocket ("potet") when your clothes didn't provide one (pockets are big in your world these days). So you spent the better part of an hour finding various treasures for your pocket.

You are always learning and discovering and are very creative. I'm so proud and happy to be a part of your journey, and I can't wait to help you learn all that the world has to offer.

I love you,
